Ready for a New York Getaday?
Ideal for couples, girlfriends, mothers-daughters, individuals … anyone who likes shopping, good eats, and Broadway theater!
Join The Tailored Traveler on their latest one day venture to the Big Apple!
Departing from Latham, traveling by bus (provided by Hunter Coach), we’ll start our Getaday in downtown Soho. Soho is considered the best shopping ‘hood in the city and you will have hundreds of shops to choose from. We'll stop at some chic but reasonably-priced shopping destinations, including So Good Jewelry, a 5,000 sq ft jewelry emporium where you can find everything from trendy costume jewelry to classy Austrian crystal necklaces that are tasteful enough for a cocktail party, and inexpensive enough to purchase several pieces.
We’ll shop at downtown Bloomingdale’s, where put-together schoolgirls as well as chic office professionals get their fashion on.
Anthropologie is an eclectic haven for modern women who want just the right look for casual or professional. It also has a lovely domestic artistry section for the home.
The Tailored Traveler has arranged for some special discounts at many Soho stores.
By now, somewhat famished, we’ll head to nearby Dos Caminos SoHo, where they’ve brought the fiesta downtown. We’ll enjoy a delicious brunch designed by the Tailored Traveler and the executive chef, with your choice of adult beverage, the famous DC appetizer guacamole, your choice of entrée, dessert, and beverage within an elegant, happening ambiance eatery close in Soho.
After our satisfying lunch, we’ll re-board our coach (echoes of Cinderella!) and head to mid-town, to the Richard Rogers Theater, for a production of In the Heights, the 2008 Tony winner for Best Musical. With an amazing cast, incredible dancing, a great story about chasing your dreams and finding your new home, and enough energy to light up the George Washington Bridge, this is a feel great show for all ages.
We’ll head back home after the show, with fond memories (and maybe some great buys!). On our return trip, we’ll savor a sampler of Annie's sweet treats on board as we reflect upon our latest Getaday.
Tickets are $159: which includes RT coach transportation Latham/NYC, guided visits to Soho shopping venues, brunch, theater, and all gratuities. Our theater seats are REAR MEZZANINE so we can keep the price affordable. The Tailors sat here and loved the show! Bus will depart from Latham Farms at 7 am (in front of Wallmart), return approximately 9 pm.
