Meet the Tailors
Anita M. Dinwoodie (Co-Founder)
Anita M. Dinwoodie lives in Manhattan, and has been helping travelers experience the joys of her hometown since 2001. She founded Food Lovers Tours with her mother, Annie Misir and has provided travel concierge services to hundreds of visitors to the city. She founded The Tailored Traveler in 2007. Anita is passionate about helping people to discover the hidden gems of New York.
Anita holds a BA in Communications from the State University of New York at Albany. She holds a certification in Destination Management from George Washington University. She is currently studying to become a licensed NYC Sightseeing Guide.
Anita lives on Manhattan’s Upper East Side with her husband, and seven-pound Maltipoo, Gigi.
Annie Misir (Co-Founder) has been tailoring travel for students and adults to international and domestic destinations for more than twenty years. She has planned tours and traveled with groups and her family to Spain, Costa Rica, France, Great Britain and the West Indies. She now specializes in day trips to NYC, where she shares her passion for art, food, fashion, and music with like-minded, adventuresome visitors to the city. You may see her in May at the International Food Festival in Hell's Kitchen, or at the Tenement Museum in the Lower East Side, introducing visitors to guided tours of the city's immigrant mosaic. In the fall, she led a group to Washington Heights to get acquainted with the Dominican neighborhood of Northern Manhattan. Annie often directs tired, hungry shoppers to afternoon tea, or lunch at restaurants matched to their particular tastes.
